New Media versus Old Corporation

Hypercycle Multimedia is the attempt to define and demonstrate new creative processes AND new business models to produce and distribute new media. When new media meets old corporate politics and hierarchial organizational structures, creative projects are the after-thoughts of the command-and-control required of the old corporate and government organization. The "nobody wins but the guys on top" schemes continue to reduce our humanity and stifle innovation. Why don't we have electric cars, 3D displays, and self-sustaining local solar energy systems available in 2006? Simple. The means of production of advanced technologies are controlled by subsidizing the old technologies. Brilliantly crafted propaganda using new media reinforces the reasons why self-sustaining energy technologies cannot be made abundant. We all remain dependent on complex industrial systems that neglect the power of individual intellect and local community resources. New media and architectures are needed to bring us out of the current dark ages of 20th century benevolent dictators. The 21st century world needs to be allowed to reach higher goals than permitted under traditional government, corporate, and religion mandates that were battled over and over again in the 20th century. Let's solve issues by design and not by default based on historical patterns.
